Clapham Common (a big park) in the center of town. The 6 of us went out here prepared to engage in an epic snowball battle with whomever would chuck them back after enough provocation.
As it has been snowing for 24 hours straight, the city of London is pretty much shut down for the day. This is the first time it has snowed like this in 20 years and the city is entirely unprepared to handle the 10-12 inches of snow we've received so far. All bus services in the city have been suspended; 10 of the 11 tube lines have suspended or severely delayed services; Heathrow and other London airports are closed until further notice; and train service in and out of the city is cancelled. The snow is supposed to continue through the day and into the evening with the temperature dropping over night to about 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit. This means icy road conditions tomorrow as the snow turns to rain and hail. Since time is of no concern to us on this trip, Trev and I are loving this and will just wait out the storm in good company here in good ol' Clapham Common, London.
